you fucking degenerates: it was an accident!!!!!! it just slipped out!!!!!!! he forgot he was live!!!!!!! IT WAS A HEATED GAMING MOMENT!!!!!!!!
me: thinks about vinny from vinesauce, someone who exclusively does livestreams, someone who has had plenty of Heated Gaming Moments and once got so enraged at continuously losing at mario kart that he literally threw up, but has still never accidentally said a fucking racial slur
me:
It’s well known in the field of psychology that when under extreme stress the subconscious mind searches for the most taboo words possible to express the frustration being felt, this is the purpose that profanity serves in our language. Some people have lower levels of self control, and will impulsively say offensive things without being aware they said it.
You’re shaming someone for not controlling a base part of being human, one that he may have a genetic predisposition towards. It’s also worth noting that this is less likely to happen to racist people, because they often think of the word as less wrong to say, thus are more likely to pick something else in their subconscious.
In other words, this heated moment reaction proves he’s not racist, because his subconscious grabbed the word he was most opposed to using.
source??? any source???
@skepticalotherkin actually, you third rate Sigmund Freud wannabe dipshit, words tend to slip out in heated moments when they’re a part of your regular vocabulary, especially if they’re used in other heated moments. I say “shit” or “God” or the occasional “f*ck” which I try my best to keep out of my mouth when bad things happen. I never use the N-Slur, so I have never felt compulsion to use it no matter how heated things get, and have never used it. Felix said it with ease and zero hesitation, it came out like it did because its used repetitively in his vocabulary. When bad things happen that make me swear like that, its like a glass breaking or an injury. Felix said it when he got shot in a video game. Are you for real, man.
Also Pewdiepie said the f*cking N-Slur and pronounced it “****er,” not “****a.” The way he said it is a derogatory insult, not “hey I’m friends with black people and they think its alright if I call them my ****a.” which would still not be any excuse. His immediate word choice was “you f*cking ****er!” No stuttering, no hesitations. Its in his vocabulary and he uses it regularly.
You know what else I f*cking hate about you and your response, @skepticalotherkin? You’re holding Felix Kjellberg, a grown ass god damn adult, to the same standard as a six year old with this. If a little kid used a slur it would be understandable because kids repeat shit they hear adults say, thats how learning language works. You teach them not to say it, you explain to them why its bad to say, they don’t say it any more because kids aren’t stupid. Felix is 28. 28 f*cking years old. If he kept using a slur in a derogatory insulting sense, its not because he’s “impressionable,” its because he’s stupid and he doesn’t give a shit!
And don’t you dare say its acceptable in sweden, the N-slur is a slur on a global scale. Too many Swedish people have already weighed in on this for that to be a viable thing to say.
That’s 4 paragraphs that could’ve been shortened to “I didn’t read the rest of this thread because I don’t want to expose myself to citations so I’m going to construct a strawman instead”.
You’re not even trying to have a conversation here, kindly fuck off.
Theres no conversation to be having because you basically just said that saying a derogatory racial slur in such a way that dehumanizes black peoples as an insult is a result of the human brain responding to a stressful situation by saying something that the person would never say. That is… mental gymnastics that would impress the judges at the olympics, I’ll give you that.
“In other words, this heated moment reaction proves he’s not racist, because his subconscious grabbed the word he was most opposed to using.”
Following this logic, this should slip out of Steve Roger’s mouth when he stubs his toe:
“

It’s not mental gymnastics if it’s true, that’s how profanity works in the brain. Are you saying you’ve never said “fuck” or something like that without meaning to? Because if you say you’ve never had a slip like that I’d call you a liar, because no matter how much self control a person has, nobody is that in control.
Not that someone like you would care for citations, given how you seem addicted to anger, but give this a read from when someone asked for citations on this earlier:
https://skepticalotherkin.tumblr.com/post/172064363169/ouijia-bored-skepticalotherkinIf this doesn’t convince you, maybe you should take a step back and realize you’re demonizing someone for saying a naughty word, and even apologizing afterwards because they realized it’s not okay to say.
I think we all need to step back, calm down, and start using “Trump” as a curse word when we get pissed off.
